A RESERVOIR MAN Book Review

Today, I'm happy to be a part of A RESERVOIR MAN by L. J. Ambrosio book blog sponsored by RABT Book Tours & PR. Please find my review below and enter the giveaway!

A RESERVOIR MAN is a fictional account of a man named Michael and his life story. It begins with his birth and ends with him in his late fifties or sixties reminiscing about the life he lived. The main plot of the book is Micheal's journey with battling with his sexuality and who he is in society.

This book read like a memoir and I wonder if the main character's story is actually the author's story. While I researched the author, L.J. Ambrosio, I didn't find any evidence to support this suspicion. But would not be surprised if there was a little of the author's story in there because of some of the more passionate and sensitive scenes.

I normally stick to my mysteries and thrillers because they're my favorite reads. I must say this wouldn't be a book I'd pick up at a book store but I'm glad I read it. It gave me an insight into a gay man's life, his struggle with being gay, AIDS, and how he viewed the "AIDS" scare during the eighties.

I will end my review with my favorite line in the book. "Find your truth, look deep into yourself, and when you understand what is there, you will see that man is inherently good; what your truth is, that is what makes you, you!" Something, I believe, a reservoir man would say.
