I give TOGETHER FOR NEVER ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
I wasn't quite sure if I'd enjoy this book because I often don't read too many middle-grade contemporary fiction stories. But I was delightfully entertained by this story and enjoyed the characters and plot very much. It's most definitely a MEAN GIRLS meets PARENT TRAP plot where two eighth graders have to vacation together but don't like each other.
Charlotte is popular, fashion conscience, wants to hang out with older kids, and likes boys, whereas Lily is her polar opposite, she's a book nerd (like me), wants to write, and could care less about boys or wearing the right clothes. You throw these two together and you have chaos!
So, like PARENT TRAP the one thing they have in common is breaking up their parents, who are acting like they're getting serious. But, things turn out a little differently than they had planned. The author does a fabulous job on the ending and I like the banter between the girls throughout the book.
I feel this book is a great addition to any school library or middle-grade section in a public library. Thank you Marilyn Kate, Holiday House, and Rockstar Book Tours for allowing me to read this book and for my honest review.
