This is the second book in the series, so I highly recommend you read the first book REMNANTS OF BLOOD first because REMNANTS OF POWER leaves off where the first book finished and you're thrown directly into this magical world of Fae and werewolves.
I love the dynamics and wit between Tannin and Ava. They have a fun relationship and I enjoyed all the scenes between them and how the relationship is challenged throughout the book.
While the second book is based on politics, which I found is the trend in fantasy series, Cunningham does a wonderful job keeping the battles and action scenes exciting. There is so much at stake and Cunningham brilliantly has you biting your nails and turning the next page making for long, late nights of reading.
If you're looking for a new, action-packed series with high stakes, then make sure to start this series. You'll not be disappointed.
